Revenue and Expenditure Reports

In order to fund its programs and services, the Commonwealth collects a variety of taxes and other non-tax revenues which are deposited into the State’s operating budgeted funds. Aside from state taxes, other revenues primarily consist of federal revenues and departmental revenues and transfers from non-budgeted funds.

The major components of state taxes are the income tax, the sales and use tax, corporate and other business and excise taxes (including taxes on insurance companies, financial institutions and public utility corporations), and other tax and excise sources.

The Monthly Revenue reports reflect broader collection data, and are the sources for the tax revenue data presented in the Commonwealth’s Information Statements. “Tax Revenue Information” provides a comprehensive month-by-month depository for all tax collection documents and updates provided by DOR.
